About us:
We are a growing language school in Sapporo downtown, Sakaemachi and Atsubetsu and are looking for teachers who love teaching children including from Kindergarten to Elementary (Grades 1-6) and/or are able to teach adults of all ages. We currently have 5 teaching staff.
We provide are a variety of tailored private lessons, adult group conversation, short lessons, company lessons, children’s private/group lessons and events.
Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience. (More details at interview)
Suitable candidates must have:
- Native English skills
- Japanese language skills are useful but not mandatory
- Experience working with children (please list references)
- Visa permitting work in Japan for at least 12 months.
Other requirements:
- Suitable presentation and demeanour
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Able to prepare interesting activities and lesson plans
- Ability to work with people of all ages
- Able to start training in February if required
- Children’s lesson are conducted in part on the floor so candidates should be comfortable with such conditions.

All of our schools in Atsubetsu, Sakaemachi and Odori well connected with public transport (JR only or Subway and Bus)

- Getting to know you - send us a detailed application letter with your resume to give us the best chance of getting to know you. Attaching a photo and references is helpful to fill out the details that you may have overlooked. Be sure to let us know about your visa status.
- Interview - if your application matches our requirements we will do our best to get in touch and invite you to come as see us. Depending on our current needs we may ask you to visit more than one of our schools. Our interviews are intended to get to know you and explain our philosophy and values. You may ask any questions you have.
- 2nd Interview/trial - we want to see you in action. We will ask you to prepare a lesson and teach a real-life lesson. After this we will give you our feedback and you can ask further questions. (Remember, at this time ask us about the goals for the lesson and any items you might be unsure of.) We may ask you to do one of each type if there are a broad range of lesson skills we need to review (baby classes, children, private and conversation).
- Review - we will review your application and trial lesson(s) and make an offer.
- Contract - you will be asked to sign a contract and provide banking details.
- Start work - we will support you from the beginning. Our business is communication and this includes our staff too.
